Practical completion isn't the end of your exposure. It's the start of it.
The defect liability period runs for months, sometimes years, after you hand over the keys. Every claim raised in that window gets argued against whatever record exists of how the building left your hands.
If that record is a folder of photos, the arguments are about what the photos didn't capture. Was that mark there at handover, or did it happen after? Without a complete record from the day, that's a conversation nobody wins.
A dated capture at PC is the reference point for everything that follows.
